Washing Lines Cape Town

Easy Washlines has been making wall-mounted washing lines in Cape Town for years, from our premises at 11a Mocke Road in Diep River. If you are looking for washing lines in Cape Town, you can come and see one in person, have one brought to your home, or order online and collect for free.

What we make

One product, done properly: an aluminium foldaway washing line that gives you 13 metres of drying space and folds flat against the wall when you are finished. It comes in white, bronze and charcoal, all at the same price including VAT, and it arrives fully assembled.

Areas we cover

We come out to the Southern Suburbs, the Northern Suburbs, the Atlantic Seaboard, the False Bay region and up the West Coast as far as Melkbos. In most cases we arrive with washlines in stock, so you can see one, and buy it there and then if you like it. There is no obligation either way.

Come and see one

Our premises at 11a Mocke Road, Diep River are open 8am to 5pm on weekdays. Phone ahead if you need to come after hours or over a weekend and we will arrange it. There is also a permanent display at the Building Centre in Northgate, opposite Builders Warehouse.

Installation

The washline arrives assembled, so fitting it is a mounting job rather than a build. We offer an optional installation service in Cape Town. If you would rather do it yourself, our step-by-step installation guide covers it.

Delivery and collection

Collection from Diep River is free. Delivery anywhere in South Africa is R149.99 for a single washline. Full details are on our shipping policy page.

Frequently asked questions

Question: How much does a washing line cost?
Answer: Our aluminium foldaway washing line is R2 050 including VAT, in white, bronze or charcoal. That price covers the complete unit with 13 metres of UV-protected line, aluminium brackets and stainless steel fixings, delivered fully assembled. Collection from our Diep River premises is free, and delivery within South Africa is R149.99.

Question: What is the best type of washing line for a small garden?
Answer: A wall-mounted foldaway suits small spaces better than a rotary line, because it uses the wall rather than the floor and folds flat when you are not using it. Ours opens to 2 300mm by 800mm and sits close to the wall when closed, so a courtyard, side passage or small back yard still works.

Question: How much washing can a foldaway washing line hold?
Answer: Ours carries a full load across 13 metres of line strung 10cm apart. That includes the heavier items many lines struggle with, such as blankets, large towels and duvet covers. The frame is aluminium and every screw, washer and bolt is stainless steel, so the strength does not drop off over time.

Question: Can a washing line be mounted on a Vibracrete wall?
Answer: Vibracrete needs a different approach to brick, because the panels are thinner and carry less load on their own. Give us a call before you buy and we will talk through what your wall can take. In Cape Town we can come out and look at the wall ourselves.
